Chinese property prices jump at a record pace

Thanks to a subscriber for this interesting article from the Daily Telegraph. Here is a section
Prices for residential and commercial property rose 11.7pc in 70 cities across China in March, figures from the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Wednesday. The rise comes despite the Chinese Government already having taken action this year to slow the market by raising mortgage rates and the putting a sales tax on homes.

Eoin Treacy's view Inflationary pressures such as surging property prices make the likelihood of additional tightening measures, including allowing the Yuan to appreciate more likely. Also see comment of the Day on Tuesday.
