"I note some acceleration in the price of the Aberdeen New Thai fund. Does anyone know why this would be and, if not, does it mean one should place tight stops because it is an ending signal?
"On another matter there was an interesting analysis of world stock market performance on Seeking Alpha which may be of interest - "
David Fuller's view You are quite right that ABD is accelerating (See also my review above for the fund and also Thailand). Consecutive week acceleration of that sort is always an ending, as you know from The Chart Seminar, but of unspecified duration. I am hoping that it is an ending of short to intermediate term duration but that depends in part on when it reacts. Your stop tactic would be essential for a leveraged trading situation and is not inappropriate for an investment, particularly if you have additional reasons to be concerned about it. In that event, one can also lighten on strength, in addition to a trailing stop.
Thanks also for the performance table and you know Eoin produces these from time to time as well, along with other data such as PERs and Yields. Moreover, the results on Seeking Alpha are in local currencies. Eoin produces them in a single currency, such as the USD, for an accurate comparison of performance.
Either way, the results do not exactly reflect the widely held view in the West (although not at Fullermoney) that we are skirting with a global depression.
