Email of the day (1)
on the Sydney seminar:
"I just wanted to say thanks for a really great seminar in Sydney this week.
"I enjoyed your monologues even if they might have not been always on subject but it is so much easier to interpret how someone really feels about something when you can see their face and expressions than just listening to the audio - but they are good too.
"The great thing is that even though I have been looking at charts for years, even decades, I find myself looking at them with different eyes now. I think that they now say more to me than they did, as you said they have a 'language' - I wonder if Wittgenstein or Popper ever read charts? It would be so interesting to hear what they might have thought. It is certainly a legitimate language.
"It was a great learning and experience and I will certainly do it again some time in the future.
"Thanks again - and I shall treasure my umbrella."
Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for your kind words, generous feedback and active participation. The Sydney seminar was notable for the active participation of a large number of delegates. It was a challenge to cover the course material and to manage the many questions ranging across a wide array of subjects. However, the result was that we covered a large number of topics in only two days. I greatly enjoyed the experience and am delighted that you did as well. I look forward to returning to Australia and seeing you at a future seminar. I will post a summary of the Sydney discussions in tomorrow's Comment of the Day.
