"My 21 year old niece just returned from two months in Jaipur, India. She made one weekend trip to Mumbai as well. She lived with an Indian family the entire time and I asked her to look over a list of Indian companies that was in the chart library, probably the Sensex.

"I am particularly intrigued about her description of HDFC. Is that a core holding of yours or David's? If so I would surmise it to be on the short list when India begins to ease."

I do not hold HDFC as an individual share but it looks great and is the third largest holding in the JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust (JII LN) (monthly, weekly & daily) which is the largest position in my personal long-term investment portfolio.
