"Thought this link on HFT might be of interest to you. After getting stopped out on my silver positions, I am one of many that are losing a bit of faith in the system. Surely there is someone clever enough at the regulators to work out how to stop this. Perhaps a tax on orders would help and also solve our deficit problems-or is that too simple!

David Fuller's view Thanks so much for the article - one of the best on the subject. Alas, I do not think a tax on HFT would solve the deficit problem, although it would curb the practice. However, if it led to broader transaction taxes, as discussed above, it would drive both investors and some companies away from exchanges where it was imposed, jeopardising some market economies in the process.
