on how to buy Euro denominated bonds:
"Are you able to advise on how it is possible for someone to buy European Government bonds. With the yields rising they are getting more attractive. I have been unable to find any UK brokers that deal in them. Thanks"
Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for this question which I'm sure will be of interest to subscribers.
Any firm with a Euroclear account should technically be able to deal in Euro
denominated bonds. However, not every firm has staff with the required experience
to deal in such instruments.
As far
as I know, the MTS
BondVision service is one of the most accessible options for institutional
investors to deal in Euro denominated debt markets. Those wishing to trade in
a smaller size should investigate "full service" brokers. Mark Glowrey,
Investors Intelligence's bond guru, mentioned City
& Continental, Killik
& Co and Collins
Stewart Wealth Management as good starting points.
