on P/E values
"Is there a way to find out the current and historical P/E value of a particular index? I don't think it is in the Chart Library. I certainly could not find it." Are you aware of a website that could provide such information?

"I am especially interested in Indonesia, I had a very could run and am contemplating taking some profits, one of these days, but would like to know the valuations. I could possibly invest in H-shares as I have already build up a good position in A Shares (US:CAF)

"What I have found out is: Singapore 14.3, Shanghai 16.5, Hong Kong 12, Taiwan ??, Indonesia ??, Korea ??"

Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for this question which I'm sure will be of interest to subscribers. You are correct that we cannot reproduce charts of fundamental data in the Chart Library because we do not receive it as part of our data feed. However, in an effort to display this data I have been producing a monthly report since April 2006 that ranks global indices by historic P/E, Dividend Yield, Price/Book and Price / Cashflow. It generally appears in Comment of the Day on the 6th of the month and I will produce the next one on Monday. All of the previous reports can be found in the Archive and have been placed together in this section of the Subscriber's Forum. The report does not include Estimated P/Es because they are by definition conjecture. http://www.fullermoney.com/x/forumThreadDetails.html?id=8257

Here are screen grabs of historic P/E charts for Singapore's STI Index (11.93), Shanghai A-Shares (18.13), Hong Kong's Hang Seng (13.18), Taiwan TAIEX (14.18) Indonesia Jakarta Composite (32.19), South Korea's Kospi (11.31). I'm not sure why the values presented by Bloomberg are different to those which you found but the answer may lie in the reference shares or in the calculation of earnings included.
