on which gold ETFs to purchase:
"Just renewed my subscription. As an individual how can I invest in Gold? Which ETF to buy and from where? Is there a Fund available?"

Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for your continued support. The range of instruments offering access to the gold market has exploded in the lat few years, so we understand that it may be difficult to choose an instrument.

We generally favour ETFs backed by physical metal. In the UK both the Gold Bullion Securities and ETFS Physical Gold Funds are denominated in Pounds and there are a number of additional funds listed in the UK denominated in US Dollars.

There are also a number of funds investing in gold shares, of which the Blackrock Gold & General Fund and the Smith and Williamson Global Gold & resources Fund have been some of the better performers.

To find more funds relating to gold, simply type 'gold' into the Chart Library search engine. This will highlight the vast majority of funds relating to the metal in the Commodity Funds section. You will notice that the funds are grouped by where they are listed. UK listed funds have '(UK)' appended to their titles.
