"Re: some of your very recent comments, your other subscribers may be interested in the following:
"1. Re Lumber: as well as the funds and companies you mentioned, there is also an iShares ETF - iShares S&P Global Timber & Forestry (WOOD). This contains 25 holdings - mostly lumber companies, including both Rayonier and West Fraser Timber that you had mentioned.
"2. Re: airlines, subscribers may also be interested in airline logistics and one I know about is John Menzies plc (MNZS:LSE). This is an Edinburgh based company that has transformed itself from being predominantly a retail newsagent to being a significant global player in air cargo and ground handling. I'd be interested in other major logistics companies serving airlines.
"3. Re: ways to invest in gold - you did not mention BullionVault www.bullionvault.com which I have found to be a very acceptable way to access gold and silver.
"Thanks for your great service. My renewal comes soon and I won't be hesitating."
Eoin Treacy's view Thank
you for these informative points and for highlighting BullionVault which offers
cost effective gold storage services. I last reviewed the iShares S&P Global
Timber & Forestry ETF as well as a number of other lumber related ETFs and
shares on October
13th.
John
Menzies remains in a relatively consistent uptrend and has regained the
vast majority of the bear market decline. Following an impressive rally from
the March 2009 low it consolidated below 400p from September to July, allowing
the overbought condition relative to the 200-day MA to unwind. It continues
to post a succession of higher reaction lows and a sustained move below 420p
would be required to question scope for further medium-term upside.
