on moving average parameters and creating preset templates:
"This e-mail is really to seek clarification and some directions.

"In the weekly charts, the moving averages are weekly moving averages - is that correct?

"Further, I would like to add some more moving averages to all my weekly charts but have forgotten the steps involved, to create them on a permanent basis. I am certain you have commented on this in the past, and I would request you to kindly point me to the date/item when you had explained this, possibly in the daily commentary.

"Also, I would like to thank you and David for all the support provided during the year, and wish you both and your families, merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year."

Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for your continued support and kind words. These questions crop up from time to time and other subscriber's may value a recap. Here is an answer I gave to a similar query on moving averages on November 6th 2009.

A 200-day moving average is identical to a 40-week moving average. However, the Chart Library does not calculate weekly or monthly moving averages; only daily averages. This means that you will always use the same daily parameter regardless of whether the chart is daily, weekly or monthly.

Here is an answer I gave to a similar question on saving personal settings on February 1st 2010:

Yes, it is possible to save your favourite settings as a template. All you need to do is customize one chart to your specifications and save the settings. This will allow you to apply the settings to another instrument at your convenience without having to go through the customization process again. Here are detailed instructions, as well as a number of examples, on how to do this. "How Do I Create Preset Templates of my favourite chart parameters?"
