on charting relative performance:
“What would be the best way to sort through all funds available in the library in order to identify those active funds that have a history of index outperformance? Am I correct that at this stage I cannot get 2 instruments together on the same chart? Many thanks and all the best.”

Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for these questions which may be of interest to subscribers. It is possible to chart two instruments on the same chart as either a ratio, spread or overlay. It is not currently possible to rebase two instruments to a common start point such as 0 or 100. Here are instructions on how to create each of the above chart types.

You can use the Chart Library's Performance Filter to find funds that have outperformed a benchmark. For example, to compare the performance of all the funds in the Developed Europe - Funds ITs and ETFs section of the Chart Library follow these instructions:

•  Click on the Filter button located to the upper right of the Chart Library screen.

•  It will default to the Performance Filter

•  Select Developed Europe - Funds ITs and ETFs from the dropdown menu

•  Select Stoxx 600 (SXXP) from the ‘Relative to' dropdown

•  Since you are based in Switzerland, you may wish to select CHF from the ‘Currency' dropdown menu. This will rebase the results to Swiss Francs.

•  Click on the ‘Run' button and your results should look like this.

You would need to perform a separate Performance Filter for each of the Chart Library sectors you are interested in comparing to a benchmark.

While more time consuming you could alternatively create a custom index of the funds you are interested in from any or all of the Chart Library sections by adding them to a section of your Favourites. You could then run the Performance Filter on that section.
