More on the "Truth and Reconciliation" marriage analogy
"The excesses of the financial sector are not surprising if you consider the long structural bull market (30 years?) the world has been in. Add to this, the unrealistic demands made by society (not unusual in a marriage), on the financial sector, while the governments have been cheer leading. By definition, cheerleaders disappear, at the first sign of bad times, since there is nothing to cheer.

"Finance is the driver of the economy and no vehicle will move without the chauffeur. While the vehicle has facilitated the journey, the chauffeur has received the credit, and society married the chauffeur. The rest, as they say, is history.

"I would like to commend a quote from the great Winston Churchill, to all those who make a living, from the financial sector: "You make a living by what you get, you make a life by what you give"

"Society is now asking Wall Street, what it has given. And realizing what the function of the wall is."

David Fuller's view Nice one.
