On calculating spread-bet dealing costs (last sentence slightly edited):

"When spread-betting, how do you calculate the dealing cost as mentioned?"

David Fuller's view Thanks for the feedback and some other subscribers may have the same query.

The spread is the difference between their bid and offer price. This is subject to change from time to time, due to market volatility and also competition between the spread-bet firms. Before dealing online, I add a position of interest to my 'Watchlist'. This will constantly update the spread-bet firm's dealing spread, shown as 'Sell' and 'Buy', during market hours. I will also see the spread when I click on their chevron and slect 'Deal ticket'.
