On reverse stock splits:

"Could you please explain to us the purpose of a reverse stock split? What do the companies look for when they do this?

"Thank you for your thoughts."

David Fuller's view I have always assumed that companies did reverse splits to make a penny stock look more respectable and possibly to avoid a delisting. However for a more authoritative view I refer you to Wikipedia.
