We get downloads of data from Bloomberg at a number of intervals every day. The Sensex and Nifty indices are updated twice; at 10am which provides an intraday value and again following the 12:10pm download which gives a closing value. Since your email arrived 11:36 am, you were looking at the intraday value rather than the closing value which was available forty minutes later.
