on how to access the Autonomies theme:
“Forgive my novice naivety but I am trying to learn. To gain the benefit of investing in Autonomies does one need to go for [shares in] a central / global division or do you regard e.g. national level divisions as equally representing "leveraging to benefit from growth of the global consumer market?”
Eoin Treacy's view Thank you for this question and welcome to the Service. The evolution of the global middle class represents a very wide array of potential investments.
The Autonomies which are a group of shares that fulfil criteria Fullermoney has defined would have to be bought individually. The SPDR Consumer ETF has been a reasonable proxy for this group over the last few years. Alternatively you may consider participating via funds offering exposure to Asia. David has mentioned the Aberdeen Asian Income Fund as well as others on occasion.
