On ageing populations
"If you think 44 years average in Japan is worrisome, please note that in 2000 there were 600 millions people age 60 and over in the world. And to give some further perspective, this number is supposed to climb to ... 2 billions by 2050! But I will be gone by then."

David Fuller's view It is fashionable in some research organisations to view demographics as the key to long-term economic potential. Perhaps it is because trends in population are more predictable than most other factors. Whatever, I have always felt that governance was much more important.

I am also an advocate of gray power in employment, but then I would say that, wouldn't I.
