"In your audio of Friday 26th march you were positive on the prospects of Japanese Shares. How would you recommend playing this - how about the attached Ishares IJPN?"
David Fuller's view This candidate
is listed in London and a number of other countries. Bloomberg says: "The
Fund invests in a portfolio of securities that so far as possible and practicable
consist of the component securities of the MSCI Japan Index. The Fund may also
hold equity securities from other countries."
There
are plenty of vehicles for investing in Japan listed in the Library. One should
always do one's own due diligence but the big call is whether or not Japan,
so long a laggard, is beginning one of its better stock market rallies? I think
so, but have opened my Japan campaign with yen shorts. At Fullermoney, we maintain
that a weaker yen is key to performance for Japan's stock market.
My personal portfolio: AUD/JPY long forex trade opened
- I have added this trade to my JPY shorts for
the interest rate differential. Today, I bought the Australian dollar against
the Japanese yen (AUD/JPY) (weekly
& daily). I paid ¥83.09 for
a September contract, including opening spread-bet dealing costs of ¥0.12.
The risk with this trade is that it is currently near the upper side of the
range, where resistance could still be encountered.
