I was at my desk last night for the China open to see BYD and Citic Securities down in excess of 15% and was moved to conclude this was about as climactic as any action I’ve seen since 2008. I initiated longs in both at HK$29.42 and HK$18.40 respectively for September contracts. I also opened a long in the Hang Seng a little later paying 23,902.5. Despite some volatility both were in positive territory by the lunchtime break. Shortly after trading reopened the Hang Seng began to deteriorate again and I decided to close the position at 23,817. I then took the profits on the early positions selling at HK$31.06 and HK$19.81 respectively. 



This is a very tense environment but there are definitely trading opportunities appearing. I want to be long of China and will be watching the market closely.
