Eoin's personal portfolio:

Yen shorts stopped out at a loss, Cocoa and Robusta coffee longs opened, platinum long increased

Eoin Treacy's view This is a delayed report since my USD/JPY longs were stopped out on Friday at ¥82.86 against purchases at ¥84.28 and ¥83.61 on November 29th and 30th respectively.

Cocoa was one of the better performing commodities earlier this year but encountered resistance in the region of £2500 and pulled back sharply. It found support near £1820 in September and failed to sustain a break below that level in November. It has now broken out of the three-month range. I opened a long in the March contract this morning paying £1977.

Robusta coffee, also traded in London, broke its medium-term downtrend in May and has trended relatively consistently since. It pulled back to test the upper side of the three-month range over the last few weeks and appears to be finding support in the region of $1800. I opened a long in the January contract paying $1857.

I used today's weakness to increase my Platinum position by 100% paying $1718.7 for another January contract.

All prices quoted include spread-bet dealing costs.
