My personal portfolio: BlackRock Gold & General Fund

David Fuller's view In my hate/love relationship with gold shares this was one of the loves, although I had to be patient because I bought it too soon in the early 1990s, as I recall, when it was managed by Julian Baring at Mercury Asset Management. There were a couple of management company changes, first Merrill Lynch and eventually BlackRock. Consequently my statements do not even show what I paid for the Fund all that time ago but the last ten years have been highly profitable. I still like the BlackRock Gold & General Fund (MRCGLDA LN) (weekly & daily) but I had mentioned that I would probably sell my gold shares later this year when I completed my last personal top-10 review in January. (See link posted yesterday.) With gold showing increasing signs that it has completed its latest medium-term cyclical advance within the secular uptrend, I decided to sell this week. My holding in this unit trust was sold at £13.12 on 28th July, although the price was not confirmed by the Fund until just after 1:00pm today.
