I don’t want to prolong the debate on the SNP because in terms of the world picture it is not important. From England’s standpoint I don’t think most people realise what their next door neighbours will look like. That said whilst I entirely agree with the second paragraph of your comment, I have to disagree with the first part. The SNP have several arrows in their quiver which many people are not aware of:-

1. They intend to take into public ownership one million acres of land by2020 from those who have held them for generations.
2. Every child in Scotland up to the age of 18 will be required to have a minder presumably to see that it is suitably brainwashed into Nationalist thinking
3. Despite the education system in Scotland being in crisis only those teachers with qualifications in Scotland are allowed to teach here – see 2 above,

The SNP are a pacifist organisation, so to date all that has been publicly stated is that they want Trident removed. How was a source of unfinished debate in the Referendum. Of more concern is their hostile attitude to the BBC because they already have STV “on side” as well as The Herald and some other local newspapers.

Living in Scotland is far from being a laughing matter and if it was not for Alan Cochrane of the Daily Telegraph, who does create some fun on the backs of the Nationalists, I don’t know what I would do.

Thank you so much for your email.  What I value most from this service is the feedback from informed subscribers, which has certainly increased my learning curve.  I was not aware of the three points you list but it took only a few seconds to pick up this article: SNP’s four tests to strip lairds of their land, written by Simon Johnson, Scottish Political Editor of The Telegraph (I do not know how I missed it) published on 24 June 2015.  It confirms the first of your points and the other two are also alarming. 

My guess is that the SNP has peaked and it is certainly overconfident.  Is it not time to back Ruth Davidson, the impressive leader of Scottish Tories?  There are plenty of Scots who oppose the SNP and defeated them in last September’s independence referendum.  The SNP rose from nowhere so might the Scottish Tories do the same if they are provided with some organisational support?
