In response to Roger Bootle’s column posted on Monday:
“Next week will be the 40th anniversary of my move from London to Brussels. This had nothing to do with the Common Market as it was known in 1974. I chose this city and country for the elegance of life here. After so many years I am still of the same opinion. In fact, as time goes on, I find it to be more and more elegant. I am very sad to say that I am struck each time that I return to the UK by it's growing vulgarity.”
Yes, but what about all those bureaucrats at the trough? Seriously, would the “elegance of life” in Brussels be diminished if EU policies encouraged sufficient GDP growth to help Europe’s economies and lower unemployment?
