On “Life is a one-time gift”
“Hi David, Hope all is well with you and your wonderful family. I thought the attached was worthwhile. Stay Healthy.”
Many thanks for this item on Heart Attacks and Water, and it applies equally to strokes as the article mentions. I think subscribers realise that I am not trying to encourage a health feature in this global strategy service, but this article was contributed to the Collective of Subscribers in the spirit of Empowerment Through Knowledge. It could also be timely given that markets – how should I put it – have lost some of their earlier calm.
Men in particular are prone to not drinking enough water to keep their bodies hydrated. You probably already know this and may have previously seen the article above, as I have, but it is a useful reminder which I was glad to read once more.
Additionally, most of us wish to live long, healthy lives. To do so, one of the smartest decisions we can make is to take responsibility for looking after ourselves. Too many of us do not always do this, particularly at a younger age. As adults, there is a lot that we can do to improve our health. We cannot prevent all medical problems but we can usually shift the odds in our favour, by looking after ourselves.
For most of us, this is less a matter of doctors and medicines, than of commonsense. The guidelines are known and simple. In addition to drinking enough water as mentioned in the article above, control your weight with a healthy Mediterranean diet; avoid the social poisons that are readily available, from too much alcohol to smoking; treat your body to plenty of exercise, preferably on a daily basis; keep your mind active, which should be easy to do in this interesting world; get plenty of sleep; enjoy the company of family and friends.
